Reflexology to Help With Chronic Back Pain

Chronic pain affects millions of people worldwide and is often debilitating.

Effective relief from chronic pain is not limited to one modality. You may need a multi-pronged approach in the management of your chronic pain, as effectively treating chronic pain is one of the most challenging medical problems for all health professionals.

I have extensive experience in devising effective treatment plans for my clients suffering from chronic pain. I can prepare a treatment plan for you as well, taking into account any existing health issues or limited ability to exercise.

Your health is very important and you must ensure that you work with a professional experienced therapist accredited with international and Australian professional associations.

I am a multi-award-winning accredited and professional reflexologist with extensive training utilizing my skills in all areas of health and wellbeing. I am a professional member of the International Council of Reflexologists and a Fellow of The Australian Traditional Medicine Society (largest in Australia). I am also an accredited and professional Reiki practitioner.

In this book she explores the various modalities, offers tips and recipes as well as her professional advice on strategies to combat chronic pain using your choice of multiple therapies. One chapter in this book is on reflexology.

I am extremely proud and excited for her recognition of my reflexology services and clinic in this chapter.

Background

Stress, medication, disease and emotional issues may cause congestion in the flow of energy in our body.

In 1916 Dr William Fitzgerald, an Ear Nose and Throat specialist, discovered during his work that he could alleviate pain in one area of a zone within the body by applying deep pressure to another area of the zone. He went as far as being able to perform minor operations without the use of anesthetics by applying pressure to specific points on his patients. It removed the cause of the pain.

Most injuries will heal within 2-3 months. Beyond that, it is likely that the original pain signal has now become a learned response of the brain and nervous system. Pain is a warning that something isn’t working as it should.

Why don’t you give reflexology a try to help with your chronic pain issues?

The time you spend receiving reflexology is an investment in your past, present and future self.

Reflexology may:

  • Relax you
  • Revive you
  • Restore you
  • Balance you
  • Ground you

It gently nudges the body towards improved function of all of its systems.

Some benefits from reflexology may:

  • relieve stress and tension
  • assist with pain relief
  • ease foot or hand discomfort
  • improve circulation
  • improve nerve and energy supply
  • promote balance to all body functions
  • ease muscular aches and pains
  • strengthen the immune system
  • relieve anxiety/mild depression
  • assist with hormonal imbalances

A high percentage of disease is caused by stress and tension, therefore just the fact that the person is relaxing and letting go has a very powerful effect on their wellbeing.

With chronic pain you sometimes can’t find any specific reason for it. Why – because the initial injury has gone away and yet the patient still has pain and they can’t point to anything that is really causing the pain. Some pain may be psychological, but it still doesn’t change the fact that there is still real pain.

You might ask how reflexology may help or benefit you with chronic back pain.

During your reflexology session the first thing I do is calm the sympathetic nervous system allowing the mind and body to relax and help break the pain – stress – pain cycle. I then work out a treatment plan for you, considering any health issues you may have.

During your treatment session with me you will receive an hour of relaxing bliss and specialized techniques tailored to assist you with your health issues. All this while reclining in my special reflexology chair and listening to relaxing music while looking out onto my tranquil pool area. All conducive to your holistic healing. I will then devise a treatment plan for you. At each appointment I always review any health and well-being issues you may have.
